An afternoon that changes how birth feels.
What happens in a Birth Loop session, who is in the room and who it is for.

The game
Birth Loop is a bespoke board game with a companion app, designed to turn the things we usually avoid saying out loud into something you can play with. Scenario and question cards cover the full journey, from pregnancy and labour to life at home with a newborn.
Topics include pain relief, induction, C-section and VBAC, water birth, home birth, NICU and premature birth, gestational diabetes, hypertension in pregnancy, feeding, newborn care and postnatal recovery. You choose what you most want to focus on when you book.
The people in the room
A registered midwife is there to answer your clinical questions plainly and honestly.
A BACP-accredited counsellor holds space for the emotional side of preparing for birth, including worries you may not have said out loud before.
The Birth Loop team runs the game, keeps the pace relaxed and makes sure everyone gets a turn.

Who it is for
Women, at any stage of pregnancy
Come on your own to a women-only session, or choose the couples format and bring your birth partner.
Dads and birth partners
The people who will be beside you in labour are welcome alongside you at our couples sessions, to learn how to support, speak up and stay steady.
Anyone supporting someone
Not pregnant yourself? You are welcome. Tell us how you are supporting someone when you book.
The escape room
The Appointment
After the game and a break for food, teams move into a 45-minute escape room built around a story. You follow one woman through her antenatal care, the moment plans change, time in the neonatal unit and recovery at home, and every puzzle is a real decision or a real question from that journey.
Teams crack number ciphers, solve a physical sliding puzzle and open lockboxes by completing activities together. Nobody is scored or ranked, and nobody is asked to speak out loud. It is built to be collaborative, a little bit thrilling and safe for everyone in the room.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Birth Loop sessions are free to attend and everyone is welcome. Food and a crèche are included too.
What is included?
Everything: the game, the escape room, food, a crèche and a voucher are all included at no cost.
Do I need to be pregnant to come?
No. You can attend at any stage of pregnancy, and the booking form has an option for people who are supporting someone else.
What is the escape room?
After the game and a break for food, teams take on a 45-minute escape room called The Appointment. You work together through puzzles, ciphers and padlocks while following one woman's story through pregnancy, complications, the neonatal unit and recovery at home. It is collaborative, not competitive, and nobody is ever asked to speak out loud.
Who will be in the room?
A registered midwife and a BACP-accredited counsellor are in the room throughout, alongside the team who run the game.
Can I bring my birth partner?
At our women-only sessions you can choose the couples format when you book and add your birth partner's details.
Is childcare available?
Yes, a crèche is included at our sessions. Tell us on the booking form if you will need it and how old your children are, so we can make sure there is the right space for them.
What if I have dietary or access needs?
Add them to the booking form. There is a field for dietary requirements and one for additional needs or accessibility requirements.
Is there support after the baby arrives?
Yes. Birth Loop includes peer support after birth, so you are not on your own once the session is over. We also link with local Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnerships (MNVPs), so what families tell us is passed on as feedback to help improve maternity care.
What happens after I book?
We email you to confirm your place and the venue. If a session is full, we add you to the waitlist.
